The new Central Finland Central Hospital drew inspiration for its interior design from the national parks of Central Finland, bringing as much wood and forest elements as possible close to the patients and staff. Hirsityö Heikkilä built two large log structures inside the hospital: one serves as a café/kiosk, and the other as a children’s play area. All log structures were crafted by hand using top-quality pine from Central Finland, which has been machine-dried and fireproofed.
